In chapter 2.4 you have 2 definitions for the MDP, are both valid?
also why is the action here a** and not just a, same goes with the other variables also in the previous sub chapters.

Yes, both definitions are valid. About the ** added to variables, that’s an error in the notebook rendering. As you can see, it’s showing fine in mine:

I guess might be since you are using “**” to make chars bold, afaik “__” is the way to go with markdown in jupyter
