2D Pose Estimate for Huge PCD Maps - AutowareAI

Hi @staff I am sure some of you have expertise on robot’s localization (at least I hope hehehe).

Well, I need to localize the vehicle in the huge map San Franscisco. However I have no idea in which part of the map, or street it is spawned…

I am reproducing this tutorial Localization on AutowareAI - Rviz fails- 2D Estimate Pose Icon - ROS Answers: Open Source Q&A Forum
But I am using San Francisco city map instead the BorregasAve (I really need use this huge city map).

And I do not know the correct procedure to identify the robot’s location that comes from the simulator side, and how this matches with rviz coordinates.

To be practical: I just wish to use the 2D Estimate Pose icon on rviz correctly and point the correct spot (street) to keep working…

I have tried use the rviz icon on a lot of streets but all of them are quite similar!!! it is almost impossible to know where the robot is on rviz…

Can someone assist me on this please?
