running roslaunch assem_moveit_config assem_planning_execution.launch does not display the rviz motion planning panel.
Logged out/in, restarted exercise several times, same result

You have to open the Graphical Tools in order to visualize RViz. Click on the computer-like icon that appears in the IDE:
